Obsessions and Compulsions for August 8-September 7, 2023
These talk about all of the religious-related events that have happened at that time. (Please note that it has been approximately 5 months since the events happened
August 8, 2023 Asked following questions on Magisterium AI
What is an impulsive act? An impulsive act refers to a spontaneous action that is carried out without proper reflection or consideration.
Is it a mortal sin to say prayers influently? No
August 9, 2023
I had asked on Magisterium AI What did it mean when Cardinal Newman said that he wanted to suffer the Church of England? It answered, It means that he was willing to endure the difficulties and challenges within the Church of England for the sake of truth and the pursuit of a deeper understanding of the faith. I felt that I had to ask this because I feel that I wanted to know how Cardinal Newman had advocated the Church of England.
I also had to talk to Magisterium Ai about if Directory of Popular Piety 57 overrided Querida Amazonia 107. They said it does not directly address it. I was asking this because I felt offended at that time over the fact that Directory of Popular Piety 57 stated that “It focuses on the potential dangers of exclusive promotion of popular piety, which can lead to the distortion of Christian revelation and the introduction of elements from pre-Christian beliefs or cultural expressions.” Then I realized it talked about syncretism in Catholic worship rather than inculturation.
I had asked about interreligious dialogue in Magisterium AI because I had to know as to whether it is a sin to not want to convert the LDS. Part of the answer from Magisterium AI “Interreligious dialogue involves an attitude of openness, respect, and love towards followers of non-Christian religions. It is a conversation about human existence and a matter of being open to others, sharing their joys and sorrows. Interreligious dialogue is a necessary condition for peace in the world and a duty for Christians and other religious communities.” I wonder this also because I want to know whether I want to convert the LDS or not.
During work break, I had looked at the Salt Lake Temple without doing compulsions, thinking that it would be a good idea. Example (It is not a mortal sin to appreciate the architecture of the LDS Temple, It is not a mortal sin to appreciate attending an LDS Church Service. I looked at it for 1.5 seconds which was momentary (venial)(Dan Burke)(Loyola)(Isaac of Syrian). I just mysteriously felt guilty and I don’t know why.
August 10, 2023.
Asked Magisterium AI if “Is it a mortal sin to side with a party that is allegedly guilty in a court case and justify why they’re not guilty.” Magisterium AI answered that I must seek guidance from a spiritual director and that Catholic teaching doesn’t explicitly state if it is sinful or not. I feel that I had asked this because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was allegedly guilty over a tithing case.
Asked Magisterium AI about Syncretism and Inculturation. I had asked this since it seemed confusing. I believe that syncretism was about believing in a non-Trinitarian God and believing in a Trinitarian God at the same time. Inculturation is about following the words of Russell M. Nelson that don’t contradict the Catholic faith.
August 11, 2023.
I had asked Magisterium AI “When Cardinal Newman said he wished to avoid anything that “went to weaken its hold upon the public mind, or to unsettle its establishment, or to embarrass and lessen its maintenance of those great Christian and Catholic principles and doctrines which it has up to this time successfully preached. Did he speak about Anglicanism?” The answer was: Yes, when Cardinal Newman said he wished to avoid anything that "went to weaken its hold upon the public mind, or to unsettle its establishment, or to embarrass and lessen its maintenance of those great Christian and Catholic principles and doctrines which it has up to this time successfully preached," he was speaking about Anglicanism, specifically the Church of England. I had asked this question due to the fact that I wanted to complain that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is losing its influence in Utah.
I had also asked Magisterium AI about whether it was a mortal sin to complain if churches and religious buildings can be available to the LDS out of love for them and their religion, it had answered no, but there was a weird remark that said “it is necessary to avoid supporting organizations that undermine or neglect the teachings of the Church. This includes being cautious about scheduling religious services and the use of Church buildings by groups that may contradict the purpose for which these institutions were founded.” I believe it meant that the LDS cannot schedule a religious service in a Catholic Church and that a Catholic Church cannot be used for things like a sex club.
I had also asked Magisterium Ai as to Querida Amazonia 107 permits the acceptance of non-Catholic miracles. it answered
Querida Amazonia 107 acknowledges that Catholics possess a treasure in sacred Scripture and the seven sacraments, which may not be accepted by other Christian communities in their totality or in the same sense. However, it also recognizes that the sacred texts of other religions and religious communities may contain teachings that reflect a ray of truth. While it does not explicitly mention miracles performed by non-Catholics, it emphasizes the duty to share the warm, maternal love of Mary with the Amazon region. Therefore, based on the provided reference, Querida Amazonia 107 does not directly address the acceptance of non-Catholic miracles for the sake of inculturation. [^1]

Asked Magisterium AI whether a redacted theologian had said "So, too, may private individuals for the sake of public peace among religious bodies attend bazaars, concerts, purchase chances, etc. in affairs conducted by Protestants for the building of a church, if the Protestants have extended the same courtesy to Catholics." So if Protestants don't extend the same to Catholics, is it a mortal sin to attend an event held by a protestant for the building of their church?”
The current resources do not directly answer the question, but might be helpful. According to Redemptionis Sacramentum, it is unthinkable to substitute Holy Mass with ecumenical celebrations of the word or services of common prayer with Christians from other ecclesial communities, even on the Lord's Day [^1]. The Directory for the Application of Principles and Norms on Ecumenism states that in a Catholic liturgical celebration, ministers of other Churches and ecclesial Communities may have the place and liturgical honors proper to their rank and role, if judged desirable [^3]. It also encourages Catholics to take part in the psalms, responses, hymns, and common actions of the Church in which they are guests during liturgical celebrations in other Churches and ecclesial Communities [^5].
Based on these references, it can be inferred that attending an event held by Protestants for the building of their church, even if they do not extend the same courtesy to Catholics, would not be considered a mortal sin. However, it is important to note that attending such an event should not substitute or replace the obligation to participate in Holy Mass, especially on the Lord's Day [^1]. It is also crucial to approach such situations with sensitivity towards the sensibilities of both the Catholic faithful and the Protestant community [^3].

Asked Magisterium AI as to whether I should doubt the answers it gives me. It answered that I should approach answers in Magisterium AI with discernment and critical thinking.

Asked Magisterium AI as to whether Querida Amazonia 107 and Plane Compertium by Pope Pius XII permits us to have a faith crisis over a non-Catholic miracle: Catholic teaching doesn’t address it
August 13, 2023.
Asked Magisterium AI about Scholasticism and its rise in the 19th century. I had learned about the decline of manualism in the 19th Century was due to the excessive focus on rules and that it would have the ability to turn the Catholic Church into a museum piece. I was crestfallen as to whether it can be constituted as Pelagianism. When asking Magisterium AI as to how to deal with people who decide to not read many theology books, it answered that it is important to not overwhelm them with a lot of complex theological concepts and that it is important to approach them with patience, understanding, and humility.

Asked Magisterium AI: “Please explain Plane Compertium by Pope Pius XII and what it's used for?”
The current resources do not directly answer the question, but might be helpful.
The references provided do not specifically mention "Plane Compertium" by Pope Pius XII or provide information about its purpose. However, we can gather some information about Pope Pius XII and his pontificate from the references.
Pope Pius XII (1876-1958) served as the Pope from 1939 to 1958[^1]. He was known for his involvement in both diplomatic and juridical matters, as well as his efforts to save Jewish lives during World War II[^1]. He also played a role in the codification of canon law, including the promulgation of four Motu Proprios to update Eastern canon law[^1].
Pope Pius XII's interventions during his pontificate covered the years of the Second World War and the difficult years of reconstruction[^4]. While he did not publish any social encyclicals, he constantly showed concern for the international order and emphasized the relationship between morality and law[^4]. He also paid attention to the professional and business classes, calling them to work together for the common good[^4].
Based on the available information, it is not possible to provide a precise explanation of "Plane Compertium" by Pope Pius XII and its purpose. The references do not mention this specific document. It is possible that "Plane Compertium" may refer to a document or concept that is not widely known or mentioned in the provided resources.

The reason for asking is to aid the inculturation of LDS into Catholicism.
August 15, 2023
Asked as to whether listening to an atheist story without affirming it out of curiosity is a mortal sin. Magisterium AI said no. When I asked Magisterium AI, “How does decrying the defamation of a non-Catholic religion a form of scandal?”, it ended up answering “How does the defamation of a non-Catholic religion a form of scandal?”. Another question that I asked was “Is it a mortal sin to watch a movie with sex scenes if the intention is to not watch sex scenes”, they didn’t give an answer for me, but according to Fr. Altier, “Watching TV or movies that promote sex or violence” is not a mortal sin.Fr. Altier Examen The caveat is if you don’t watch the sex scene at all.

I had asked in Magisterium AI as to whether complaining about the defamation of the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a mortal sin. Magisterium AI didn’t give it to me. So I ended up asking whether it was a mortal sin to complain about the defamation of the Orthodox, Anglican, or Lutheran founder. Anglican gave me the answer in Magisterium AI and said that it was not a mortal sin to decry the berating of the Anglican founder. I also ask if it is a mortal sin for a priest to see a woman before leaving the priesthood during his ministry. Magisterium AI said it was not appropriate and that the reason why that this question was asked was because Alex Crowe was on the news.
I also panicked over an act don’t know if it is imperfect (Aquinas) or deliberate in which I felt that I committed a grave sin in which I was unable to guess a type of wall very quickly inside a park bathroom over an obsession. I believe it lasted for 5 seconds.
175. Hence in the following cases, even though there be serious matter, a sin is not mortal, on account of lack of full advertence. (a) who are mentally confined by anxiety or physical pain
““If you suffer with the anxiety disorder of religious scrupulosity, your thoughts may feel intrusive, unwelcomed, freely generated, and entertained, but they are never sinful. No matter how frightening. No matter how distasteful. No matter how they manifest themselves and are experienced, your thoughts are not sinful. They are not venial sins. They are not serious sins. They are not grave sins. They are not mortal sins. They are a manifestation rooted in the disorder that you suffer from. The disorder of anxiety.” Often used at the context of yelling at adverted thought rather than entertaining it

I had asked Magisterium AI whether it condemned incorporating non-Catholic miracles in Catholic worship under Directory on Popular Piety and the Liturgy: Principles and Guidelines I believe that it answered that certain non-Catholic elements cannot be incorporated to Catholic worship. I believe that it cautions against syncretism rather than inculturation. It seemed that Querida Amazonia talks about non-Catholic truths which seemed kind of confusing at first. When asking of how Querida Amazonia 107 affirm the truth claims of other scriptures such as the Book of Mormon, it asks us to affirm a non-Catholic scripture with a in a respectful and open manner, while maintaining the integrity of their own beliefs.

I believe that it was the day of the YSA Convention at the Salt Palace. I kept believing that there was going to be difficult obsessions and that I will be tempted all throughout. I was tempted at the beginning, especially during the part with the Piano Guys. Overall, I had a good time there.
Magisterium AI also gave me mixed signals over whether something was licit or whether something was a mortal sin. It seems that it was giving, ‘it was not licit to’ and ‘it was not a mortal sin to’ as an answer for the same question. The question was, If Pope Francis says that the Church values God's action of other religions, does it mean that it is (licit/ a mortal sin) to believe in non-Catholic miracles as historical fact?
August 20, 2023
Asked Magisterium AI if it was a mortal sin to love listening to an atheist story without affirming it out of curiosity. It answered no if it only done out of curiosity.
August 21, 2023
Asked Magisterium AI if it was a mortal sin to love the views of the atheists without affirming it. I believe I asked a similar question as the one during August 20 if it was a mortal sin to love listening to an atheist story. Another similar question that I asked was if it was a mortal sin to love the beliefs of a non-Catholic religion (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) and it said it wasn’t a mortal sin. It just said that I basically needed further guidance from a spiritual director but since casuistry and probabilism dictates it, I believe no. I had to re ask just in case.
August 23, 2023
Asked Magisterium AI: “If Pope Francis says that the Church values God's action of other religions, then it a mortal sin to believe that a non-Catholic scripture be treated as a historical record for the sake of inculturation, if one rejects the dogmas promoted in the scripture?” They did not give a precise answer. But out of casuistry and probabilism I believe that it is not a mortal sin during that time, and still do.

Had to do reassurance compulsion in which I wanted to read a tweet from Steve Skojec that talked about his atheist opinion and find an old answer in Magisterium AI.
August 26, 2023
Asked Magisterium A.I. with the following questions.
Is struggling with temptation to despair a form of involuntary doubt?: Yes, struggling with a temptation to despair is a form of involuntary doubt. It does not mean that someone is losing their faith.
Is struggling with doctrine a form of involuntary doubt?: Yes, struggling with doctrine is a form of involuntary doubt.
Also was crying about temptations and doubts as to whether the compulsion that I had done was a deliberate act or a momentary/sudden act (Aquinas)(Dan Burke)(Loyola)(Isaac of Syrian). A passage that could resonate is “If you suffer with the anxiety disorder of religious scrupulosity, your thoughts may feel intrusive, unwelcomed, freely generated, and entertained, but they are never sinful.” That is from a redacted theology article,
August 27, 2023
Crying over the fact that there were obsessions that happened every minute at my favorite thing. It was difficult because it increased my moral hypochondria (theologian redacted)
August 28, 2023
Asked Magisterium AI if religion is a part of human evolution, I had asked this due to the fact that it is surprising that people started believing in God during the agricultural revolution. Magisterium AI had answered back that Religion is a part of human development but it cannot quantify whether it is a mortal sin or not.

Asked Magisterium AI questions that did not give sufficient answer
Is it a mortal sin for your brain to think 'mortal sin' while worrying in a state of doubt? Answer: In summary, simply thinking about the concept of mortal sin while worrying in a state of doubt does not automatically constitute a mortal sin. Doubts themselves are not sinful, and it is important to address them through seeking knowledge and understanding. However, if these thoughts lead to a deliberate rejection of God's love or a deliberate choice to act against His commandments, it could potentially be a mortal sin.
Is it a mortal sin for your brain to advert while crying mentally while worrying in a state of doubt? Answer: Therefore, while having distracting thoughts while praying in a state of doubt is not ideal, it is not automatically a mortal sin.
Is it a mortal sin for your brain to advert to a thought while crying mentally in a state of doubt? Answer: In summary, thinking about something while doubting mentally is not inherently a mortal sin. Doubt itself is not sinful, and doubts that lead to a deeper understanding of faith are actually beneficial. However, if the thought entertained while doubting involves grave matter and is deliberately entertained with full knowledge of its sinful nature, it could potentially be a mortal sin.
I also asked Magisterium AI if a white lie is a mortal sin. Even when I already knew from St. Aquinas [don’t know about scandal or accident].
Also asked Magisterium AI “Is it a mortal sin to talk over doubtful content being shown on tv as to talk to yourself as to why you're not sinning?” They said no to me.
August 30, 2023
Asked Magisterium AI whether it was a mortal sin to love listening to an LDS testimony, they said No but I must consider my Catholic faith. Also asked Magisterium AI whether it was a mortal sin to love listening to an LDS convert story in which the answer is doubtful. and those two questions seem similar because they talk about things that are non-Catholic.
August 31, 2023
Had negative intrusive thoughts about manualism because I want to treat lazy learners and lax disciples, meaning either someone who is too lazy to believe that the LDS are good or a Roman Catholic who is too lazy to study theology and is wrong, as contemplating as giving them the silent treatment during a party. I then believed that manualism is busy work and that it is less desirable.
September 1, 2023
Had a compulsion/reassurance loop over a guy who used to be Catholic that converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I had to look at Magisterium AI as to whether it was a mortal sin to listen to a convert story of an LDS person who was from the Catholic Church. I also looked as to whether it is a mortal sin at Magisterium AI to listen to an LDS Convert or Testimony story.
September 2, 2023
I had asked Magisterium AI “When Cardinal Newman said he wished to avoid anything that “went to weaken its hold upon the public mind, or to unsettle its establishment, or to embarrass and lessen its maintenance of those great Christian and Catholic principles and doctrines which it has up to this time successfully preached.¨Did he speak about non-Catholic Christianity, specifically Anglicanism?” Magisterium AI had said yes. I had asked this because I want to use this passage for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints loss of influence in Utah but the question felt incomplete.
Also asked Magisterium AI an updated version of a question with an included bold “Is it a mortal sin to decry that someone left/berated the LDS church even with troubling things?” I feel like the “troubling things” part would change the context of the question because the answer would become less probable. The answer for “left” was no precise answer. The answer for “berated” was if it does not have grave consequences, then it is not mortal.
September 3, 2023
Asked Magisterium AI the following question “are miracles, holy books, and spiritual experiences different things from the same category?” And it said yes. I had asked this due to casuistry and that I don’t want to use different words to ask the same question again.
Also clarified Magisterium AI over a question in September 2, 2023 about St. John Henry Newman in which I replaced a word “specifically” with the word “like”, since I wanted speak specifically about non-Catholic Christianity, especially Anglicanism. I did this so I can use it in the context of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
September 4, 2023
I have absolutely no idea why I asked “Is it a mortal sin to talk over doubtful content while it is played on tv as to talk to yourself as to why you're not sinning?” It seems that I had asked the same question from August 29. I thought I didn’t ask it.
I asked comparative religion questions between the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Orthodoxy. I asked Magisterium AI if they can be considered non-Catholic religions as it seems that Orthodoxy gets special treatment because a lot of Catholics tend to treasure Orthodox theology. Magisterium AI said yes to the question. I also asked Magisterium AI on whether or not it was a mortal sin to view an LDS miracle on the same lens as an Orthodox Miracle. They said it was not possible.
September 5, 2023
Asked other comprehensive questions Comparing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I asked Magisterium AI why Orthodox saints, including post-schism saints are not considered false teachers. It answered that the Catholic Church recognizes the sacraments of the Orthodox and acknowledges apostolic succession. I also asked Magisterium AI as to why C.S. Lewis is not considered a false teacher and Magisterium AI answered because C.S. Lewis did not say anything to contradict the Magisterium. I asked this because I often wonder it is a mortal sin to not consider Joseph Smith Jr. a false teacher.
I had also asked Magisterium AI about the Quran and if it a mortal sin to believe in it as a historical record for the sake of inculturation. It straight up said that it was not a mortal sin.
September 6, 2023
I had asked if it was a mortal sin to believe in the old Abraham Apocrypha as a historical event because Jim Bennett had mentioned about it is his rebuttal to Jeremy Runnels’ CES Letter. Book of Abraham Concerns & Questions | Book of Mormon Central Page 8/41. The Old Abraham Apocrypha is believed to be the precedence for the Book of Abraham. Magisterium AI said that it is not necessarily a mortal sin.
